West Australian psych rock-boogie masters DATURA4 team up with local heavy rockers Black Buzzard for an exclusive show at the River on Friday April 11. Currently working on their anticipated 7th album, 2025 will see the band returning to the live stage playing a bunch of local and regional shows.
Fronted by Dom Mariani of legendary Oz garage rockers The Stems, DATURA4 have released 6 acclaimed albums on Alive-Natural Records ‘Demon Blues’ (2015), Hairy Mountain (2016), Blessed is the Boogie (2019) West Coast Highway Cosmic (2020) Neanderthal Jam (2022) and (Invisible Hits (2023) They have received widespread acclaim with features in Classic Rock Magazine (UK) Rolling Stone, Rhythms Magazine (Aust), Blow Up (Italy) Fireworks Magazine, Blues Magazine, Viva Le Rock and Shindig Magazine (UK) just to name a few. The first single taken from the album “Open the Line’ was proclaimed by Stevie Van Zandt as ‘The Coolest Song in the World’ during the third of April 2023 receiving substantial airplay on Sirius XM radio network via Little Stevens Underground Garage radio show. The single also made it on to the best blues releases of 2023 on the streaming and downloading service Qobuz coming in at #24, and along with the second single lifted from the album ‘Going back to Hoonsville’ were chosen by Classic Rock magazine as their single picks of the week. The later featuring Perth blues legend Dave Hole on slide guitar.

Originating in 2009 out of the port city of Fremantle, Western Australia, regarded as one of the most isolated cities in the world, DATURA4 can be best described as a ballsy return to full-tilt boogie and hard rocking blues with their own original spin on things.
